This article firstly introduces the significance and current research status of overall production line planning research. Secondly, based on the production mode of the aviation manufacturing workshop, the basic methods of overall production line planning were introduced in detail, mainly including capacity analysis, logistics planning, scheme selection and implementation. Finally, the theory and method of overall production line planning in the aviation manufacturing workshop will be put into practice. Taking a production line of a work package as an application case, the production status during the workshop capacity ramp up process will be investigated and analyzed. Based on capacity evaluation, logistics intensity, and area correlation analysis and calculation, the production line of the work package will be re planned and laid out to meet customer needs, providing reference for the overall production line planning of the aviation manufacturing workshop.
