The thread-lift procedure has gained popularity because of its low downtime and immediate aesthetic improvement. Any facial cosmetic surgery requires a detailed understanding of facial anatomy so as to enable the surgeons to reverse those signs of ageing; hence, anatomical knowledge of the signs of ageing must be included into patient evaluation, planning and treatment. Skin, subcutaneous fat, the Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System (SMAS), deep fat and deep fascia are layers in the face which are present from superficial to deep. The superficial fascia of the face and neck is composed of an organised fibrous network called the SMAS, which links the dermis to the facial muscles. Thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure which is now popular as it has low complication rates, faster recovery and short procedure time. Thus, the primary care during thread lifting could be to minimise the possibility of bleeding and nerve damage by taking precautions against damage to the nerves and blood vessels.
