Sustainable Pharma Case Studies
摘要
Over the past few decades, sustainable pharmaceutical research has emerged as an innovative development for drug manufacturing and delivery and has received increasing amounts of attention from healthcare staff, consumers, policymakers, organizations, and companies. Sustainable practices have been introduced and applied to the development of alternative delivery systems, novel products with low risk of environmental risk, and greener manufacturing in several locations. There is a variety and diversity of opportunities and challenges for each region in the world to design and develop their own pharmaceutical sustainability. Through such processes, the experiences and learning from case studies have been discussed, which could contribute to the comprehensive and complete picture of the sustainable pharma industry. In this chapter, the features of sustainable pharma in business, such as supply chain and management strategy eco-innovation; in manufacturing, such as the environment and product packaging; and in global companies are identified and discussed. Moreover, the size of the company is also an interesting factor that needs to be considered to maximize the profit and minimize the sources that facilitate sustainable improvement. The main experimental outcomes are summarized and explored together with the specific conditions in each case study. These improved and innovative processes have been carried out globally through different colonies, countries, and regions.
