The status, role and influence of Chinese traditional culture in that of the world have become key academic issues that both modern Chinese and foreign scholars are concerned about. Most of these comparative studies, however, have so far focused on political and economic systems, philosophy, history, literature, and science and technology, with little attention devoted to economic thought. Thus the need for the present study.
