Social Work Services for Rural Female Impoverished Elderly Individuals

摘要

In traditional Chinese society, influenced by gender norms, women’s issues were predominantly confined to the family and private sphere, receiving insufficient social attention. With the development of modern economic and social structures, women’s issues have become increasingly complex, transforming into public concerns such as employment, education, and poverty. In 1995, the Fourth World Conference on Women first incorporated “Women and Poverty” into its twelve major areas of concern. China responded with the landmark document, “China’s Program for the Development of Women (1995–2000),” focusing on enhancing overall qualities of women, including political participation, education, health, and poverty.
