Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and Qatar University (QU) are working to adopt short- and long-term plans to ensure leadership in teaching and learning, scientific research, and community service at regional and international levels. Modern technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI), play an important role in our lives, providing realistic opportunities to accelerate business implementation and improve the final value of work. AI plays a crucial role in taking education and research to the next level, transforming the way these organisations work and make decisions. AI can improve the traditional work of educational institutions and transform the understanding of their complexity. However, challenges remain in various aspects, whether related to the nature of our work or to the AI technologies themselves. This is still a great opportunity for every HEI. Therefore, this paper aims to analyse the potential of AI to accelerate the implementation of the strategic plans of the two universities.
