Genetics, Genomics, and Breeding of Dill
摘要
Seed species have gained the world’s attention due to their application in various ways. Dill (Anethum graveolens L.), belonging to the Apiaceae family, is considered one of the most important and economically important seed spices grown and cultivated all over India. Researchers have continued to concentrate on the genomics, breeding, and metabolomics perspectives of several other crops, which has led to a relatively lower global awareness of this plant. Most of the researchers worked only on the essential oil and its antibacterial and antioxidant activities. However, still almost no work has been done about the breeding aspects of this important plant. The present review offers an overview about the origin, breeding, genomics, and metabolomics of dill. This information would be very helpful for the researchers who are interested in the breeding of this plant.
