摘要

Renewable energy provides a critical assistance in sustainable, environmentally friendly, and economically viable electricity generation. Solar energy systems are pivotal among these sources, requiring high performance for optimal efficiency. Porous materials have emerged as effective and economical means to enhance heat transfer and energy efficiency within solar energy systems. Porous organic polymers (POPs) are an emerging class of porous materials made primarily from organic building blocks interconnected by strong covalent bonds. This structure creates rigid frameworks with specific void spaces, making them ideal for accommodating guest molecules. This chapter summarizes the applications, advantages, and limitations of porous materials in various types of solar energy systems. Additionally, it briefly summarises both energy conversion and energy storage components.
