National and Global Economic Growth and Population Change
摘要
This chapter is concerned with the global economic dynamics of multiple countries. I follow neoclassical growth theory in modeling economic production and wealth accumulation. This chapter deals with challenging questions related to global trade with structure and growth. Following the previous chapters, this chapter introduces endogenous population dynamics into the economic trade growth model. This chapter is organized as follows. Section 7.1 defines the basic model. Section 7.2 shows the dynamics and its properties. Section 7.3 shows how the system changes its path when the human capital of Country 1’s women is improved. Section 7.4 examines the impact of Country 1’s mother spending more time on per-child fostering. Section 7.5 shows how the system is affected when Country 1’s total factor productivity is enhanced. Section 7.6 studies a rise in country 1’s propensity to have children. Section 7.7 examines what happens to the system when country 1’s income has a stronger impact on the mortality rate. Section 7.8 shows how the system is affected when a woman’s propensity to pursue leisure activities is increased. Section 7.9 shows the impact of a rise in Country 1’s propensity to save.
