Obtaining access into the renal calyceal system is a very common and vital procedure to decompress the acutely obstructed system secondary to multiple causes and also as a therapeutic procedure to remove renal/ureteric calculi, for ureteric strictures-stenting as well dilatation and to capture foreign bodies.
