IR Management of Vascular Malformations

Vascular anomalies are a complex group of entities and are broadly classified into (a) vascular tumours and (b) vascular malformations based on their histopathological features and clinical behaviour. This classification is endorsed by the International Society of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA), allowing a systematic approach to diagnosis as well as management of this heterogeneous group of disorders. Interventional radiology plays a significant role in the management of vascular malformations.
