Interventions of the Aorta
摘要
The aorta is the biggest vascular conduit in the body transporting blood from the heart to all the organs. The aorta can be affected by various pathologies such as aneurysms, dissections, and other conditions, some of which maybe life threatening. Interventions in the aorta have come a long way with the development of newer devices and hardware making endovascular management a preferred modality in some aortic conditions. This chapter provides an overview of the pathophysiology of various aortic diseases, their imaging, endovascular management and current guidelines for management.
