Neurointerventions Including Aneurysm Interventions

The advent of advanced endovascular techniques has transformed the management of neurovascular diseases, offering minimally invasive solutions with reduced morbidity and mortality. These techniques have become indispensable in the treatment of a wide spectrum of conditions, with some disorders exclusively reliant on endovascular intervention. Among these, intracranial aneurysms, cerebral AVMs, ischemic stroke interventions and spinal vascular disorders are a named few. This chapter covers the endovascular management of intracranial aneurysms. Aneurysms present with diverse clinical manifestations, the most severe being subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening condition. Endovascular management, including coiling, stent-assisted coiling, and flow diversion are constituting a major component of neurointervention practice. A comprehensive understanding of intracranial aneurysms, their complications, and their management—particularly in the context of SAH—is essential for practitioners in the field of neurointervention.
