Management of Power and Power Quality in Micro-Grid Using Adaptive Controller
摘要
The increasing use of renewable energy sources and distributed generation units has led to the development of micro-grids, which offer a sustainable and reliable solution to power supply in remote areas and critical loads. However, the integration of these sources into micro-grids can create power quality issues that damage equipment and reduce the stability and reliability of the micro-grid. These issues include voltage sags, unbalanced loads, and harmonics. To tackle these challenges, the Dual Second-Order Generalized Integrator (DSOGI) controller has emerged as an effective tool for managing power and improving power quality in micro-grids. By combining the Instantaneous Reactive Power Theory (IRPT) and the dual second-order generalized integrator technique, the DSOGI controller regulates power flow by adjusting the power output of distributed generation units and energy storage systems to maintain balance between generation and load demand in the micro-grid. Additionally, the controller filters out disturbances like harmonics to ensure that the power supplied to the load remains within the desired limits and does not damage equipment. Simulation studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of the DSOGI controller in managing power flow and maintaining power quality within the desired limits in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
