Optimizing the Power Consumption of Air-Cooling System of Battery Using Fuzzy Logic
摘要
The electric fan plays an important role in electric vehicles as a coolant for the Li-ion (Lithium-Ion) battery cells. Electric vehicle batteries use various cooling systems including air cooling, phase change material, liquid cooling, and fan cooling. In these options, fan cooling is the most suitable method. The purpose of the electric fan in electric vehicle is to normalize the temperature of battery during operation. In the absence of coolant, battery temperature can rise rapidly, leading to a significant increase in temperature, main concerns such as thermal runaway and quick battery discharge. However, an important concern is the power consumption of the fan. This paper mainly focuses on the method by which the electric fan uses low battery power. A fuzzy controller will be used in this process, directing to minimize the power consumption of the electric battery. The aim of this research is to optimize performance and diminish power consumption of the electric fan in electric vehicles through the fuzzy logic system.
