Public Health Information Systems

At present, the public health information systems (PHIS) constructed in our country are mostly applied according to specific fields and scopes, and they are relatively closed systems from each other, thus forming “information islands.” This prevents interconnection, interoperability, and information sharing among them. It fails to fully realize digitalization and intelligence at the “group” level and cannot meet the needs of life cycle health management services. Therefore, as an important content of implementing, the national informatization development and an important means of implementing medical reform, accelerating and standardizing the informatization of public health has become a key construction content.
