Authentication and Data Integrity-Assured Image Encryption Method
摘要
Multimedia advances in internet communication develop with the transformation of information in the form of digital images and videos. The exchange of information is vulnerable; hence, image encryption is used for security purposes. Asymmetric 128-bit block cipher, i.e., the AES algorithm, enables secure image transmission. In this paper, the AES-Galois counter mode (GCM) is presented for improving authenticity and data integrity. This mode involves the integration of a counter mode (CTR) and authentication. It is robust against tampering and other cryptographic attacks. The performance of the AES-GCM is tested for three different images, and the results are compared with those of the conventional AES algorithm in terms of the number of changing pixel rate (NPCR) and unified averaged changed intensity (UACI).
