The rates of metabolic dysfunction is increasing due to the large increase in caloric consumption and lack of physical activity. As a result, there has been an increase in the prevalence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), which poses a substantial challenge to global health by leading to significant morbidity and mortality, especially in cases where fibrosis is evident [1].
