摘要

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), has emerged as a global health burden, necessitating innovative management strategies. Currently, there are no approved therapies for MASLD, and there has been a growing interest in herbal and holistic therapies to treat this disease. This chapter delves into integrative approaches to MASLD management, highlighting the integration of complementary and alternative therapies alongside conventional medical interventions. With a focus on holistic care models, this chapter recognizes the limitations of conventional treatment modalities and advocates for a comprehensive approach that embraces holistic therapies to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life. Moreover, it underscores the pivotal role of multidisciplinary teams in delivering patient-centered care. By fostering collaboration among hepatologists, nutritionists, exercise therapists, and complementary medicine practitioners, holistic care models can effectively address the complex interplay of extra-hepatic factors underlying MASLD, highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary teams in treating this multisystem disease.
