Drivers of Human Behavior to Meet UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Relation With Energy
摘要
The pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of energy requires a comprehensive understanding and strategic influence on the key factors involved. The COP26 negotiations at the Glasgow Climate Conference has emphasized the urgent necessity to restrict global warming, cease financing for fossil fuels, and achieve zero emissions by 2050. Human behavior plays a pivotal role in driving progress toward achieving the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly concerning energy-related initiatives. The pursuit of sustainable energy practices is intrinsically tied to both individual and collective human behaviors shaped by various factors. This article emphasizes the role of individuals in achieving the desired targets of energy sustainability and the major hindrances. Enabling a sustainable energy transition to mitigate anthropogenic climate change requires profound shifts in human perceptions, preferences, and behavior. Successfully achieving these changes necessitates a significant contribution from social scientists, who play a crucial role in comprehending how to motivate and empower individuals to actively participate in a sustainable energy transition.
