Geracomium: Elderly-Care Collectively During People’s Commune Period
摘要
This chapter traces the establishment and operation of the geracomium (jìng lǎo yuàn) during the specific historical period of the People’s Commune, using the formation and development of the geracomium in Beilaohao village in the northeastern region of our country as a case study, restoring the original form of history, and detailing the basic living conditions of the elderly in geracomium from aspects such as clothing, food, housing, and transportation. On this basis, this chapter further explores how “respect” for elderly people during the People’s Commune period and the collective mode of elderly care were reflected in both theory and practice.
