Concise Description of Effective Media Approximation

This chapter gives a concise description of effective media approximation, which considers the homogeneity and ergodicity of constituting components of a composite system in macroscale grossly in statistical physics. The effective elasticity modulus of grains reinforced composite materials, strength and toughness parameters of porous materials, effective thermal expansion coefficient, effective thermal conductivity, effective dielectric constant, effective magnetic permeability, and effective electrical conductivity of randomly distributed phases composite, etc., are concerned.
