Professor Gu Mingyuan’s thought of educational discipline construction is part of his overall educational thought. He is not only a practitioner, but also a thinker of educational discipline construction. He is one of the important founders of the comparative education discipline in China after the reform and opening up since the beginning of the 1980s and also the promoter, supporter, and guide of the development of educational disciplines. He was the leader of the Educational Discipline Review Group of the State Council Discipline Review Group. The development of China’s education discipline has made great progress under his leadership. He visited all universities undergoing educational discipline construction in China at that time, provided them support and guidance in the process of educational discipline construction.
