Employees’ User Experience of Intelligent Process Automation in the Financial Sector

The onset of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) brought about a significant transformation in the financial industry, inspiring the need for research into the user experience (UX) of intelligent process automation (IPA) within financial institutions. This paper delves into the employee UX of IPA within a financial institution, addressing the impact of automation integration and technology reliance on user experience and technology acceptance in the workplace. The literature review explores the critical factors contributing to a positive user experience after implementing IPA, covering both organisational considerations and human perspectives. The study’s results emphasise the importance of user acceptance for the success of automation, which is influenced by the technology’s perceived accuracy, reliability and consistency. The insights provided in this paper offer a practical contribution to leveraging automation to enhance efficiency, job satisfaction and overall productivity within the financial sector.
