This review paper examines the complexities of e-commerce architecture and the prevalent security challenges that come with it, including fraud, data breaches, and order scams, with a particular focus on the Philippines. The enormous increase in online fraud attempts and Filipinos’ susceptibility to fraudulent schemes establishes the urgent need for robust e-commerce security measures. Through a comprehensive review of technical safeguards, e-commerce systems’ integration and architecture, security, and socio-economic considerations, the study proposes strategic interventions and best practices to fortify this sector against cyber threats.
