Food Crisis, Security, and Sustainability

Questions related to food crisis, security, and sustainability have been at the forefront of both academic and popular discourses within the context of Asia given the distinct geophysical and socio-historic nature of the space. Grappling with multiple instances of natural and artificial disasters including droughts, famines, floods, pestilences, pandemics, invasions, and wars, the histories of Asia as a space have been shaped by narratives of inaccessibility, uncertainty, and unavailability that have been further exacerbated by the rising concerns of climate change, sustainability discourses, and instances of out-migration.
