摘要

The tales that narrate the origin and evolution of iconic dishes, the folk songs that capture the happiness and sorrow of food production, and the recipes that evolve while being passed orally from one generation to another are some of the unique facets that make the discourses on food narrative and culinary histories in Asia fascinating. An interrelated field of inquiry, food narrative, and culinary histories adopt distinct approaches to engage with mediums like cookbooks, personal memories, digital food content, food artifacts, utensils, policies, and documents related to food systems, among many others, to make sense of the how foodways and practices shape and are, in turn, shaped by people, traditions, and events across time.
