Software Simulations of Spiking Neural P Systems
摘要
Following Part I—Theoretical Aspects of Spiking Neural P Systems and Part II—Real-Life Applications of Spiking Neural P Systems, this chapter opens Part III—Implementations of Spiking Neural P Systems. This chapter is dedicated to the software simulations of SNP systems and their variants. Software simulators, whether for the purposes of research or pedagogy, are useful tools in task automation and verification. An overview and classification of software simulators, their examples and uses, is given. Representations and design considerations are provided, useful also for the following chapter on hardware simulations. The chapter ends by providing current challenges, and thus ideas for further research, on software simulators of SNP systems.
