A supply chain is a network of set of individuals or companies involved in the process of a product development that starts with creating a product to delivering it to the consumer. The components of a supply chain include producers, warehouses, transportation companies, distribution centers, and retailers. Its major functionalities are product development, marketing, operations, distribution, finance, and customer service. Nowadays, supply chain is global in scale. Hence, it should address the limitations of centralized ecosystem of supply chain such as unreliability and lack of transparency due to which the originality of the product is compromised. A new promising method that overcomes this challenge is by implementing a distributed ledger for pharma supply chain management using blockchain technology and enabling the unique identification of original pharma product using NFC is proposed in this paper.
