This article uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to design beam-type parts through topology optimization. The above was done during a course for fourth-semester Mechanical Engineering students. The objective of this research was 1) to bring Mechanical Engineering students closer to the use of AI for the benefit of their disciplinary area, 2) to determine the type of constraints that must be defined to use AI algorithms to design parts through optimization topological, 3) to know the students’ perception about these AI tools as teaching tools in their course and 4) to define a methodology to use AI algorithms in the design of parts through topological optimization. The results show a sequence of steps to solve beam-type part design problems. Students also feel interested in using these AI tools for part design since the existing tools are user-friendly.

摘要
