The study explored how leveraging the global trend of minimalism could reshape design spaces, emphasizing functionality and simplicity. We propose a directional hypothesis: altering classroom variables will positively impact creative assessment metrics. Through literature and focused group study, our experimental design focused on 60 first-year design students from MIT Institute of Design, employing opportunity sampling. Rigorous verification ensured academic equivalence. Adhering to Declaration of Helsinki guidelines, the 4-week experiment observed creative variations in EFSS (elements, form, space, and structure) modules, using diverse layouts within college classrooms during June–October 2023. A positive influence was generated, by creating clusters of desks and emphasizing on a student-centric approach to learning. Heightened creative output was observed upon fostering an environment where lighting was optimal.

摘要
