Restructuring Ideas for Material Understanding
摘要
When it comes to interior design, material does become a crucial factor, as the industry is flooded with new materials, each with a different application possibility. However, the application of design and materials is frequently diluted solely by aesthetic paranoia. A second phase look-out into material application must be seen and investigated to strengthen the design. The use of materials in interior design has evolved into a “one-size-fits-all” outlook that results in the use of materials irrespective of their possible understanding towards indoor environment. The cost of the project takes precedence over the material application, which results in the material’s adverse effects being disregarded. A deliberate effort should be made to incorporate practical applications into teaching pedagogy. By learning the fundamentals of the material, this can be developed further in the design. To justify this, the need for an experiment involving a widely used material, such as plywood, was explored and investigated to help bring this fact about hazardous materials understanding to a conclusion. Studies have established that pressed wood products do emit volatile organic compounds. An investigation was conducted to explore the controllability of the system, utilizing a small air chamber test equipped with sensors to monitor readings. To conclude a “testability-for-design in material application” (TFD-MA) has been proved as a need in response to some urgent testing needs. There are many layers of logistical thinking in the design. Thus, this can be demonstrated and approved in the larger professional community. New avenues in designing in specific fields can depend on scientific assertiveness. This will make it more acceptable and in synchronization with the much-needed cause in environs tortuously.
