Review of Research on Gamification Model to Engage and Motivate Students in the Design Studio
摘要
Despite architecture being an engaging profession, where designers remain motivated to deliver creative outputs, architecture education is considered one of the most stressful in higher education. There is a need for a change in the current pedagogical structure that enables students to remain engaged and motivated while learning. The study discusses the concept of gamification in Architecture through a systematic review of available literature using PRISMA tool. Bibliometric analysis of data is performed to analyze the influence of gamification-based model through concepts of game mechanics, feedback mechanisms, and immersive experiences in augmenting the learning process in a design studio for positive learning outcomes. The study also focuses on how the theory of gamified studio can be aligned with the pedagogical principles of outcome-based learning as advocated by NEP 2020.
