Basic Concepts for Diagnosing Cranial Deformity
摘要
In general, the anterior fontanelle closes around 7–15 months after birth, but there are cases in which even in healthy children, it is already close to closure at 4–5 months after birth. Conversely, compensatory enlargement of the head circumference for symptoms of increased intracranial pressure due to disease not only increases the tension of the anterior fontanelle but also allows diagnosis of dissection of the skull sutures by palpation.
