Magic of Imperial Examination

Liao, Jin, and Yuan dynasties were political regimes established by China’s northern ethnic minorities. Liao dynasty, established by the Khitan people as its core, and Jin dynasty with the Jurchen people as its core, coexisted with the Han dynasty, while Yuan dynasty established a vast empire spanning Eurasia. Because the imperial examination was consecutively built and improved by emperors in Tang and Song dynasties, it gradually demonstrated the power of “the fairness in the world”. It is like a huge magic stone, not only realizing the rulers’ ambition to “appoint all heroes into the government”, but also attracting the attention of the minority rulers of the Liao, Jin, and Yuan dynasties who had different culture from the Central Plains.
