Design and Fabrication of Automated Rivet Assembly and Pneumatic Punching Systems

摘要

The process of manually riveting during the manufacturing of an electromagnetic relay frequently results in irregularities and faults, which impede both efficiency and the quality of the final product. Automation is crucial in addressing these issues, particularly in the areas of rivet assembly and pneumatic punching. This research aims to automate this crucial process with a specific emphasis on enhancing productivity. Initially, a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) model is generated using Fusion 360 software. Subsequently, a physical prototype is fabricated. Precise selection of essential components is carried out, and thorough construction of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic parts is undertaken, adhering to the specifications provided by the CAD models. Throughout the creation process, the system accurately determines specific requirements and combines different components, such as motors, pneumatic punches, frames, and sensors, into a cohesive and operational entity. CAD simulations and programming tools are employed to enhance the efficiency of designs. A prototype is created as a foundation for implementing automated riveting assembly in industry.
