In modern electric vehicle (EV) applications, supercapacitor technology is emerging as a promising avenue for energy storage. This study explores into the comparative analysis of three supercapacitors differing in voltage, capacitance value, and peak current capabilities, alongside a standard 12 V 12AH battery. The experiment examines load current, terminal voltage profiles during and post-discharge, and variations in speed measured in revolutions per minute (rpm). Through five replicates to ensure data robustness, the findings reveal interesting insights. Contrary to expectations, the battery’s higher current usage doesn't linearly correlate with motor speed post-disconnection. Surprisingly, despite lower current supply, the supercapacitors demonstrate greater efficiency in driving a BLDC motor to higher speeds. This difference showcases the potential of supercapacitors to outperform batteries in certain aspects within EV systems, hinting at their viability for future energy storage solutions in the automotive landscape.

摘要
