Paraproteinemic Neuropathies

Monoclonal proteins, produced by the B lymphocytes, are linked with neuropathies. These can be axonal or demyelinating, and small fibers may be preferentially affected in some other patients. Co-existence and causal relationship between neuropathy and the paraprotein needs careful evaluation. The majority of these conditions are modifiable with immunosuppressive therapy.
