Customizing the user interface of information systems is one way to enhance employee efficiency. Management information systems can be tailored by adjusting the content, layout, and available functionality. When customizing the front end of a business application, such as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, it is crucial to accurately collect and process information about user behavior. The use of decision-making algorithms allows for the design of communications that meet the specific needs of employees within the system. While it is true that recommendation systems are not commonly employed in typical management process support systems, there is potential to leverage them for business advantage. The primary motivations of the authors are to describe the UI customization mechanism of a platform that combines features from workflow and ERP systems, present the results of experimental studies conducted in several organizations, and provide conclusions and directions for further development of the discussed solution. The objectives of the paper include discussing the UI adaptation mechanism used, summarizing the results of the first iteration of the study, describing the implemented improvements, and presenting the findings from the second iteration of the study.
