Recent Trends in Medical Cyber-Physical System—A Brief Survey

Medical cyber-physical systems (MCPS) have arisen as a dynamic field intersecting healthcare, information technology, and engineering to revolutionize healthcare delivery and enhance patient outcomes. This paper presents a concise overview of recent trends in MCPS, emphasizing technological advancements, applications, and associated challenges. Through an analysis of articles published between 2020 and 2023 on Scopus, the study explores the multifaceted roles of cyber-physical systems in healthcare, catering to the needs of both patients and medical professionals. Furthermore, developing knowledge such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and the Internet of Things are highlighted for their potential to augment MCPS capabilities. By addressing critical challenges and outlining future directions, this study offers valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers striving to advance MCPS for improved healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
