Issues with global environmental degradation do not only impact large numbers of people. Rather, they are those enormous issues that impact the entire Earth. Not everyone will be impacted by these issues at the same time or to the same extent. The causes of today’s more complicated environmental pollution issues may have started decades or even centuries ago and are the result of cumulative, linked occurrences. Pollution develops when dangerous substances are released into the environment. Pollutants are a collective term for these dangerous substances. Natural pollutants include things like ash from volcanoes, the result of human activities, such as factory run-off or waste. Pollution is a result of many human-useful things. Pollutants stream out of automobile exhaust pipes. Air pollution results from burning coal to produce energy. Garbage and sewage from homes and businesses can contaminate the land and water. Pesticides are chemical toxins that damage animals by seeping into streams and killing vegetation and insects. In addition to seriously contributing to climate change, pollution hinders economic growth and exacerbates poverty and inequality in both urban and rural areas. Those with less money, who are unable to shield themselves from the damaging effects of pollution, bear the brunt of the consequences. The main environmental factor that contributes to illness and early mortality is pollution. In fact, pollution on a worldwide scale is the result of natural climate variations paired with human activity. Global issues also contain intricate political, social, and economic elements and may not have instantaneous solutions. This review aims to search for sustainable approaches to mitigate environmental pollution. Several sustainable approaches were discussed in this review article including the use of nanotechnology, bioremediation, and green technology. These sustainable approaches are doable, able to maintain a safe environment with reduced side effects, and have a low impact on the environment.
