Conclusions—Summing Up and Charting a Way Forward
摘要
This chapter sums up and brings together the salient findings of the exploration of the narratives of 18 older adults from India during the Covid-19 pandemic. This chapter synthesizes the impact of Covid-19 on older adults in India, revealing how socio-economic status exacerbated vulnerabilities, gender norms intensified caregiving burdens, and disruptions to religious practices contributed to crises of faith. The ecocultural model provided the linkages between the various systems in which individuals are nested. Recommendations for families, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), government machinery, and mental health professionals are proposed, along with directions for future research.
