Making Meaning of Covid-19: Navigating the Maze of Covid-19 Information

Older adults actively engaged in making meaning of the Covid-19 virus and the pandemic. We captured participants’ thoughts on the origin stories of the virus, its spread, and the risks they faced as older adults. The study highlights the critical role of information literacy and access to reliable sources in mitigating confusion and empowering older adults to make informed decisions regarding their health and safety during the pandemic. Additionally, the findings underscore the need for tailored communication strategies to address the unique information needs and concerns of older adults, ensuring their inclusion and well-being in public health initiatives.
