In order to study the wheel tread scuffing on high-speed train dynamics, this paper establishes the vehicle-rail coupling dynamics model and wheel scuffing model of CRH2-type rolling stock according to multi-body dynamics theory. Adopting variable wheel diameter flat scar simulation method to analyze the influence of wheel scuff length change on the characteristics of wheel-rail force and creep-slip rate of high-speed trains, and combining the wheel weight reduction rate and wheel-rail vertical force index to get the safety limit value of wheel scuff length. The results show that: in the wheel-rail rolling contact process, too long abrasion will lead to the occurrence of the wheel pair jumping phenomenon, serious and even the occurrence of vehicle derailment events, should be timely according to the flat scar length limit value of the whirlpool repair wheel pair; according to the wheel weight reduction rate and the wheel-rail vertical force is given in different operating speeds under the tread abrasion degree of the safety limit value, the limit value can be more effective to ensure that the high-speed train safety operation.
