Numerical Simulation of Double-Sided Double-Arc Backing Weld of High-Strength Steel for Ships

Welding is a key technology in the ship industry. The quality and efficiency of welding greatly affect the quality, cycle and cost of the ship manufacturing industry. In this article, the process parameters of double-sided double-arc multi-layer multi-pass backing weld of high-strength steel used in ships are simulated and analyzed. The impact of the assembly gap, rear arc current and arc spacing on the deformation field of backing weld were studied. The regularity of backing weld deformation is obtained. It can be used as reference for the control of welding deformation in actual welding production. It is of great significance for improving the quality and efficiency of the welding of the ship manufacturing industry, purifying the welding environment, and reducing labor intensity.
