摘要

Sport anglers in India, especially those in the Himalayan region, have taken a great interest in fly fishing, a specialized kind of angling. This technique uses a synthetic fly that is cast with a tapered line and a lightweight, flexible fly rod to mimic the natural prey of fish. While fly-fishing seasons vary by region, in the Himalayan rivers the optimum times to fish are from October to November and from mid-February to mid-May. Since anglers must display the fly naturally on the water’s surface to tempt the fish, fly fishing is a skill and precision-based sport. To guarantee that these game fish populations remain sustainable, catch-and-release techniques are frequently used. Fly fishing has gained popularity due to its emphasis on technique, relationship with nature, and conservation.
