Hangzhou: A Regional Urban Hub for Dynamic Fusion of Tradition and Innovation
摘要
Hangzhou, a city with a profound historical legacy, stands as a demonstration to enduring influence and cultural richness in both traditional and contemporary China (Zhu and Chen, Cities 123, 2022). Located in the eastern region of China, Hangzhou is not only the capital of Zhejiang Province but also a vital hub of economic and cultural activity (Forster and Yap in cities in post-Mao China, Routledge, New York, pp. 51–102, 2005). Its historical prominence dates to its role as the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, a period that greatly shaped its cultural and architectural heritage.
