In response to the volatility and uncertainty caused by a high proportion of renewable energy integration into the distribution network, coupled with the limitations of existing reactive power optimization methods in terms of slow computational speed, suboptimal performance, and susceptibility to local optima, this paper proposes a novel reactive power optimization approach of flexible distribution network based on the Multi-Verse Optimizer (MVO) algorithm. The methodology is validated through simulation using the IEEE 30-bus system, regulating the reactive power of the distributed network, against scenarios employing traditional grid-tied inverter.
