A speed-flux observer for the induction motor (IM) based on the fractional order sliding mode (FOSM) is proposed in this paper. Aiming at the problems of system parameter variation, external disturbance, and chattering, a new FOSM observer is designed. The anti-interference of the observer is improved, at the same time, the flux and speed of the motor are estimated, and the smoothness of the output of the estimation curve is improved, so that the estimation results haven shown high accuracy and advantages in dynamic response. Finally, the effectiveness and flexibility of the proposed FOSM method are proved by experiment results.
