Feasibility Study on Superconducting Cable Insulation Detection Method Based on Polarization and Depolarization Current Method
摘要
As high-temperature superconducting (HTS) cable is regarded as an ideal solution to solve the problem of the increasing demand for electricity in the central area of the city with limited space, it is essential to evaluate the major insulation of HTS cable, which mainly is polypropylene laminated paper (PPLP). Polarization and Depolarization Current (PDC) method is a kind of non-destructive measurement, which is suitable for cable because of the low power requirements. This paper studied the feasibility of HTS cable insulation detection method based on PDC Method. Firstly, the theoretical derivation of translating frequency spectroscopy to polarization current was deduced. Then three PPLP samples were prepared and accelerated electrical aged to varying degrees. After measuring the frequency spectroscopy samples before and after aging, the polarization current of PPLP samples were calculated and analyzed. The result shows that the polarization current of PPLP sample drop faster at the initial period (1 ~ 3s) after aging, while no significant changes in the polarization current at middle and later stages (>20s). Therefore, electrical aging influences the decline rate of polarization current for PPLP samples, especially at the initial period, confirming the feasibility to evaluate the insulation of HTS cable based on PDC method.
